Totally Absolutely Wiped Out

Not doing as well this week - have no motivation to do anything whatsoever - can't concentrate on craft or gardening. Seem to be muddling. Haven't done any craft since my weekend with mum & dad. This is so totally frustrating - can't go away for a few days without feeling like I've been run over by a truck....just so tired & stiff. Really need to get some things together ..... going away next Monday for a week or so ..... arghhhhhh .... haven't even finished making bookings.

Had remedial massage today - I just wish that sometimes Steph wouldn't find the sore spots - there seemed to be so many today. I'm sure they play tag with each other & move about.

Getting more difficult to get out of bed these mornings particularly with the cooler weather - it was really beanie & glove weather this morning. Good to have a walking buddy though - that motivates me to get moving.

May Challenges

Well this month we had a few challenges - not really happy with my card. It was to be a birthday card for a child so I wanted it to be simple. Made a couple as I just wasn't happy with them but anyway - here is my effort:-Then the layout challenge was of your child or grandchild. Our son isn't a kid any more but he is till our child so I chose to use photos taken from when he was working at the quarry at the beginning of this year. I loved the paper as it had what looked like cogs on it - very apt I though seeing as he was operating a crusher.
The OTP challenge was for a present for a child so I just did a door hanger.
The photography challenge I loved doing. Always get enjoyment out of anything to do with photography and graphics. We had to hightlight a certain aspect of the photo by changing the background to black and white. This was taken on Dunk Island last year of one of the gingers growing at the resort. It almost looks like a waratah flower.

My White With 1 entry

This month the colour to use was pink & the theme was Mothers. I am not a big user of pink & I always find the challenges where you can only use one dominant colour difficult but it really makes me think about what I am doing.

I chose photos of Mum at Boonah feeding these most adorable donkeys.

Meeting with Annette

While I was staying with Mum we had a friend whom we had met on-line through Blumars come for a visit with her husband. It was so lovely to finally be able to actually meet Annette as we had chatted on msn & been sending emails for a while but hadn't met one another. She is such a beautiful lady & was had such a wonderful time - actually the time went too quickly - oh well - we'll just be able to look forward to when we meet again.

May Weekend Workshop

This month we only had a Layout & Card to complete. Being the Mother's Day weekend with so many members having other commitments it was decided not to worry with an OTP this time. Mum and I had fun working together on the different challenges. Both were to be a "green" theme using different embellishments. I chose to do my beautiful dog.
These are my entries:-
Mum chose to do Dad with all his "friends" at home for her layout:-

Weekend at The Gap

Well I decided to go and visit mum and dad for a few days. My cousin was going to have lunch with mum at Samford so I hitched a ride out with her. We had a lovely catch up on the drive out - I don't get to spend as much time as I would like with my cousins.

The three of us had a very nice lunch at a cafe in the town. My brother, niece & one of my nephews had been working on a Scout Sausage Sizzle so came across to say hello.
That afternoon we then went around to my brother's for afternoon tea as his daughter had made a birthday cake for him for afternoon tea. So of course all the kids had to help with blowing out the candles.
Sunday was Mother's Day so after lunch another nephew & my sister & her partner came for afternoon tea. Then on their way home my brother, sister-in-law & family dropped by too. My sister had the most unusual kitten with her - an ocecat - which has spots on it's coat. Here you can see my nephew "wearing" him.

Mmmm - what's happening

Well this is a long-weekend for us.....Monday being Labour Day. Caboolture has had the Urban Country Music Festival all weekend - starting Friday night. The main concert was last night however I didn't go - think the crowds, noise & cold night air would have been too much for me. Am thinking about going to the Urban Blaze tonight which is a HUGE bonfire at the showgrounds & fireworks after. Will see how I am doing. Might take the camera along.

Just having a few quiet days at home - actually had fairly quiet days the past week. Apart from Physio on Wednesday & then lunch with a friend I have been able to be at home.

Have managed to make a start of some craft challenges for this month so am pleased about that. Usually I leave everything till last minute & then I am stressing instead of finding pleasure in my scrapbooking.

Hi to Everyone

Hi to Everyone, thanks for browsing my blog. These are just my ramblings about nothing & everything happening in our little bit of Australia.

This year I will be sharing with you my love of paper craft.
