Flying High at Tahune

Well who would have 'thunk it' .... that I would even attempt to get on to something like this. I must admit though that I had a had a few moments of will I or won't I - lol.

This hang glider / flying fox is at Tahune and you get to "fly" above the gorge. Once I relaxed after the first trip I really enjoyed the second run. I elected to go at the slower speed which I thought would have been less stressful - although maybe I should have gone faster and finished the run quicker.

Graham also had a go and he went at a much faster spped than me.

Flowers from our Tassie Holiday

The flowers in Tassie were just beautiful ... especially the roses. The climate must suit them perfectly as I've not seen so many perfect blooms in the most awesome rose gardens.
These fuchias were growing at Bicheno. I love the contrast of the flowers against the timber fence.
Hydrangeas at The Shot Tower.

Geez - do you think you can buy me a smaller ball next time ....... please .......
What's that ............
I'd better watch that rake ..... it might move.

Just Lookin' in the Window

How cute is this .... another photo opportunity which I couldn't resist. I even made my hubby do a u-turn in our motorhome and go back so I could get a pic. This was in front of a butcher's shop and I thought what a wonderful advertisement.

Some animals we met on our travels in Tassie

These friendly ducks visited us for breakfast at our motor-home when in Hobart. They were so funny getting up to all sorts of antics to try and get our attention. These little paddy melon wallabies were everywhere in Tassie and were so friendly.
We visited Seahorse World which was extremely interesting. These little guys were so cute. They are one marine creature which I have always been fascinated by. These ones are the pot-bellied sea-horses. The large belly is a feature of this species are aren't males incubating eggs.
These are 3 week old sea-horses .... there were 1,000s of them.
These are teenagers ..................
Next to Seahorse World is the Platypus House. These too are incredible animals and I could have stayed for hours watching them.
At the Platypus House are also echidnas. I had never seen how friendly these little guy are before. When we lived on the farm we had lots of them around us in the bush but we'd never got close to them. However these were just gorgeous. They were so friendly that we had to watch where we were walking in case we accidentally tripped over one. They aren't at all aggressive and if the feel threatened just curl up in a ball.

Quirky Cows

These cow statues are at Anvers Chocolates. I just couldn't resist taking their photos. Everywhere you looked there were cows .... standing in the paddock under trees .... tethered to fences .... hiding behind trees.
